International Islamic Forum for Dialogue "IIFD" – Saudi Arabia which represents more than one hundred of International Islamic Organizations all over the world those who are members of the International Islamic Council for Da'wa and Relief; Welcome retracting the supreme Pontiff of Vatican regarding his offense to Islam, Muslims and Messenger of Islam Prophet Muhammad Bin Abdullah peace be upon him, that we have announced our attitude toward it by our previous statement on 15/09/2006.
IIFD appreciates the Vatican Pope as he emphasized that the historical quotations that he has mentioned in his lecture in Germany; dos not represent his personal opinion and he was strongly sorry because of these quotations have offended Muslim through out the world".
IIFD considers such this step of retraction accompanied with Pope's strong sorry represents a degree of apology, and looks forward more of the equitable and objective reading on the truth of sanctity of Islamic faith and on the greatness of the values and principles of the tolerant human Islamic message, on the other side, IIFD considers that the lack of knowledge at the Pope and the religious reference of the Catholic Church about the truth of the Islamic Faith is the essential reason of the misunderstanding toward Islam and Muslims.
IIFD hopes that these degree of apology may repairs the big crack which has been made by the Pope statements in the building of the dialogue culture, that we have established it by the cooperation with his successors Pope Paul 6th and Pope John Paul 2nd since 1972. which achieved a reasonable degree of the mutual understanding and mutual respecting among followers of religions, cultures and civilizations.
Finally, IIFD assures that the international communities today is in need of building the bridges of the understanding and cordiality, and not need to more of the mine laying, exciting reasons of the disaccord, and not need to more of encouraging of the culture of militarizing the international relationship, inflaming the wars and clashes, extending areas of destroying, and collective eradications, where as all these crimes unfortunately, have been committed today by the political, religious and cultural groups; which are well known all over the world.
